Theme: Focus

There are several layers of “focus.”

1️⃣The first layer:
It’s the physical or mechanical focus when you’re working on balance poses, new poses, and/or challenging poses.
Having a clear focus point helps you find your center and the stability.

2️⃣The second layer:
It’s the mental focus and intention to stay present especially when you start to feel bored or uncomfortable in certain poses or situations.
By training your mind, you’re teaching yourself how to stick with experiences as they are happening, just as they are.

3️⃣The third layer:
You can take this focus into your meditation practice.
Instead of forcing yourself to empty your mind or let go of thoughts, you can simply focus on senses – physical sensations, breath, and/or senses of smelling, hearing, seeing, and tasting. Utilize them to communicate with your mind.

4️⃣The fourth layer:
Now you can take this focus into your life.
You have a clear vision for your life. You create, adjust, and achieve goals. You’ve been developing the ability to stay present in uncomfortable and uncertain situations on your mat. You can keep developing and utilize this ability off the mat.

We’re working on standing balance poses while applying the first 3 layers of focus,

and you’re encouraged to work and apply the fourth layer off the mat.

Modifications are always available.
