Theme: Build Connection.
Most of us do experience some moments of being fully engaged with the present moment, where we usually find feelings of happiness.
But sadly, we’re mostly preoccupied with regrets, resentments, worries, or “I have to do this and that” thoughts.
I do get preoccupied with these things just like anyone else.
When I’m wandering about between the past and the future (which means my mind is somewhere else), I find myself feeling unsatisfied, frustrated, overwhelmed, and/or all the other icky feelings, where I’m going over and over and over again about things I cannot do anything about (that bad feeling I’m not in control, and that frustrates me even more).
I’m not a woo-woo kinda person, but I do believe that disconnection of the mind and body can happen to anyone.
We live in a world where being busy is common, and multitasking is very much encouraged.
To make everything easy for ourselves, our brains are made to function on “automatic pilot” mode.
It is an amazing function that is very useful for performing tasks and solving familiar problems, but… if most of our lives (especially mental and emotional parts) are on the automatic pilot mode, what is the point?
You can choose to become more aware and intentional when you’re willing to do so.
Happiness is to “live” and enjoy what “you” love.
It’s not just going through some familiar motions every day till the end.
This month of February, we will work on consciously uniting the mind and the body through the breath and poses – during the hold and
the transitions between.
These are the flows we’re working on. Modifications are always available.
